Dear Juno or Any Other Teenager in a Similar Situation,
First of all being a teenager your only job is to go to school and not be sexually active. One of the reasons why most teenagers get pregnant is because of unprotected sex, that’s what happens, they get drunk or they are pressured and that get’s people making poor decisions. But a lot of the time it’s false love. A false idea of love, them thinking about what love is worth and they get confused of “what is love?” and “what is sex?” and they don’t understand that those are two different things. They can come together but for the majority of the time they are two different things and they are expressed differently in the adult world compared to teenagers world. The teenagers world is just a confusing hormonal time period. Juno you are 16 years old and I’ll just like to say that you handled your situation maturely. But I still think you made a terrible and stupid choice of having unprotected sex. You realize that you could have gotten an STD? You were irresponsible and because of that you had to suffer the consequences.
Juno I think you made the right decision of putting up your baby for adoption instead of aborting your child. I find abortion to be cruel, it violates the body and it is taking away life’s opportunity to thrive and create their own destiny or discover something. The greatest thing you can ever do in the world is to bring life and if you are blessed with the ability to bring life, that is the greatest gift you can bring to the world. I don’t think teenagers should get abortions, there are certain consequences you have to live with and maybe with that you’ll grow. There are young girls that get pregnant and from that they learn responsibility, they change their whole life and then they want to pursue something not just for themselves but for their child. So with that, comes with growth, an internal growth in a maturity which is sometimes good.
Seeing the first light, hearing the first sound, seeing the first sight, and experiencing true love (the real love) which is to sacrifice for someone that you care. It’s not about buying things, it’s not about having sex, it’s not about feeling empty inside and filling it up with monetary things. It’s really about loving someone unconditionally and seeing the first thing of anything because parenthood could be a beautiful experience. Someone will be missing out on that beautiful experience and that beautiful gift because there are some people out there in the world who cannot and if anything they would dream of experiencing all the pain, all the struggle of bringing life. Overall Juno I’m glad you made the right choice of putting up your baby for adoption.
